Summer scents

Summer Candle Scents: Fair Season and Refreshment

In summer, customers look for refreshing scents in candles: fruits, citruses, and sea breeze instead of heavy, comforting notes. This collection features 29 fragrance oils that perform best in our sales data from May to August, ranging from watermelon, mango, and pineapple with coconut, through cool lemonade and gin and tonic, to sea salt with orchid.

Which notes build a summer line?

Four groups of notes form the core of the summer offer:

• Fruity: watermelon, mango, strawberry, and raspberry – sure-fire summer sellers;
• Citrus-Beverage: pink lemonade, lemon with mint, and gin and tonic, perfect for patio candles;
• Marine and Aquatic: sea salt with orchid and summer breeze accords;
• Light Floral-Green: teas and delicate bouquets that tolerate heat well.

Working with fragrance oils in hot months

High temperatures in the workshop and during transport are a real factor in summer. Store fragrance oils away from the sun, and pack finished candles so they don’t sit in a hot car for long. Recommended concentrations can be found on each product card; most compositions work within a range of 3 to 10 percent in soy and paraffin waxes, tarts, and soaps.

When to order summer supplies

The fair and market season starts in June, but creators restock as early as April and May. Summer bestsellers, such as watermelon or mango, can disappear from stock before the first heatwave, so it's worth securing your supply earlier.

Documents for legal sale

For each fragrance oil, you will find an IFRA certificate, a safety data sheet, and a list of allergens for the CLP label – all the necessary documents for your summer line to legally reach market stalls, shops, and online sales.
